FAQs

Learn the answers to common questions about using myPharmacyonline.ca
How can you sell prescriptions for less than the cost at my regular pharmacy?
The medications used at myPharmacyonline.ca are identical to the medications you receive from any other Canadian pharmacy. The difference in price is unrelated to the medication but rather due to the lean operating costs of our pharmacy. Our pharmacy is not a walk-in retail pharmacy located in an expensive high profile area with a costly merchandized front-store and associated operating costs. Since such expenses are absent from our business model, there is no need for the traditional charges associated with a prescription, we are even able to discount further and sell below the cost in some cases since pharmacies in BC and Canada!

Do you sell medication to the U.S.A.?
We do not actively endeavor to sell medication to the United States; but, just as traditional Canadian pharmacies, we cannot legally deny providing medication to an American Citizen if presented with a legal Canadian prescription.

How do I get my prescriptions to you?
By filling out our simple order form, we will contact your physician or previous pharmacy and quickly obtain an active prescription for your medication. You can also upload an image of your paper prescription, just remember to write to word "COPY" on it in pen.

How long does it take to ship my medication?
Depending on your location within Canada, it can take anywhere from 3-6 business days. We do offer expedited shipping at an additional charge. We encourage our patients to order their medication 2 weeks in advance (this "overlap" is covered by the BC government). We also have “Auto-fill”, which will schedule your medication that you take on a regular basis and ship it out to you without you having to actively re-order it.

What happens when I run out of refills?
If you run out of refills, we will contact your doctor for you to obtain refills. If your physician wants to see you, we will then send you a reminder email that your doctor wishes to see you. In some cases we will be able to provide you with an emergency supply to maintain your continuity of care.

Can you send me an emergency supply?
In some cases we are able to supply patients with an interim supply until they are able to obtain a proper prescription from their doctor. This is an exception to the rule and not the rule. Patients must have an established relationship with myPharmacyonline.ca in order for any interim supply to be provided, among other requirements.

Can you bill my provincial insurance plan?
Currently we can bill British Columbia and Alberta provincial insurance plans. We can also bill all major private group medical insurance plans, such as Blue Cross, Assure Health, etc....

What if my medication doesn't arrive in time?
In the very unlikely event your medicine does not arrive in time, we will work with a local pharmacy that is close to you who can provide you with an interim supply of the medicine. In most cases, myPharmacyonline.ca will cover the cost if this ever occurs.

Do you get your medication from different sources than my regular pharmacy?
No, we only purchase our brand name and generic medications from Canadian sources. Examples of brands we carry include: PharmaScience, Mint, Sandoz, TEVA, Pfizer, Elli-lily, Sanofi, Takeda, Taro, and more.

Are you licensed to sell in Canada?
Yes, myPharmacyonline.ca meets all the regulations and requirements to operate a pharmacy in the province of British Columbia (license #33256) and can therefore send medication anywhere in Canada.

If I live part of the year in the U.S.A. Can you ship my medication to me?
Yes, we can ensure our patients' continuity of care by shipping to them when required on their holidays.

How many months worth of medication can I order at one time?
Most provincial insurers and group medical insurers will only allow a 3 month supply to be filled at any one time. If you would like more, we can supply up to one year's worth of medication (at the pharmacist's discretion) but if you have an insurance plan, anything beyond 3 months will NOT be covered by your insurance.

Do you ship controlled drugs or narcotics?
No, not unless they are included with other medication in a prepacked compliance/blister package or part of an overall medication regimen.

How many months worth of blister packs can you provide?
Please note, it is not recommended to order more than a month at a time. For example, if medication changes new packs will have to be sent out as Health Canada will not permit pharmacies to re-use patient's old medication.

How Do I Place An Order?:
Simply click the "Start" button on our home page and follow the instructions, we only require a few pieces of information. Once we receive your order it will be shipped within 48 business hours. EASY!
